Lorde collects a Golden Globes nod

There’s little else of direct NZ interest in the nominations apart from, perhaps, some ideas for what to watch over the summer break if the weather doesn’t improve.

Lorde’s Yellow Flicker Beat

Lorde scores the only direct nomination, with Yellow Flicker Beat (from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1) competing for the Best Original Song – Motion Picture award.

The Anthony McCarten-scripted The Theory of Everything competes for the Best Film and other gongs, while award winners elsewhere are also named in various categories. Pride, the big winner at last weekend’s British Independent Film Awards, is named in the Best Motion Picture – Comedy Or Musical category. Leviathan, named Best Film overnight at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards, comeptes for the Best Foreign Language Film gong.

The Golden Globes will be presented on Monday 12 January, NZ time.
