Macao fleshes out plans

December will see the first edition of the International Film Festival and Awards Macao (IFFAM), with some detail about the programme announced this week.

The festival director is respected former Locarno and Venice director Marco Mueller. Veterans of the Asian screen industries also associated with the event include writer and producer James Schamus, producer Lorna Tee and Fortissimo’s Michael Werner.

This week the festival has outlined its programme intentions, which will include an international competition, Best of Fest Panorama, a previously-announced genre line-up, plus some Asia-specific strands.

The International Film Festival and Awards Macao will run 8 – 13 December.
