MediaWorks to SMASH! The Edge TV

Pop culture TV show SMASH! will screen exclusively on The Edge TV in 2015, and be the first LIVE daily TV programme to screen on the top-rating music TV channel.
SMASH! will be broadcast from a brand new TV studio currently being built at The Edge head office in Auckland, drawing fully on the pop culture content and resources of The Edge, New Zealand’s biggest music entertainment brand. 
The SMASH! brand will span across The Edge’s radio, TV and digital platforms, with The Edge Night Show becoming The Edge SMASH! 20.
SMASH! was launched in August last year, and screened on both The Edge TV and FOUR.  Presented by The Edge hosts Marty Hehewerth and Stephanie Monks, it features the latest in music and entertainment, plus celebrity interviews, behind-the-scenes access and competitions. 
The Edge TV Content Director Ross Flahive says, “With the proven success of SMASH! on FOUR, the show is set to be the cornerstone of The Edge TV in 2015. We see viewers as being an important part of SMASH!, and want viewers to see SMASH! as their outlet for sharing what is ‘hot’ or ‘not’ in their world.”
SMASH! starts its 2015 season on February 2, and will screen weekdays at 4pm on The Edge TV (Freeview Channel 11 and Sky Channel 114). 
MediaWorks Radio Group Content Director Leon Wratt says, “A full TV studio at The Edge allows us to integrate content more effectively than ever before, with major benefits for our audience and our clients.”
“We are now a one-stop shop. Musicians and celebrities can visit The Edge, where they can be interviewed on Breakfast with Jay-Jay, Mike and Dom, walk over to our television studio to do a ‘Guy, Sharyn and Clint Cover Challenge’, and finish off with an interview on SMASH! with Marty and Steph.”
