Melbourne Web Fest takes two Kiwi shows

AFK and Auckward Love are both named in the line-up for this year’s Melbourne WebFest, with the pair collecting five award nominations between them.

AFK, the misadventures of a group of gamers who mysteriously wake up in the bodies of their online characters, is nominated for Best International Drama. It also has a nomination in the Best Visual/Special Effects category, for Peter Haynes and Jonathan Guest.

Auckward Love, a look at what it’s like to be a single 20-something-female in today’s dating game, has a nod for Best International Comedy, plus two individual nominations. Emmett Skilton is up for Best Director; Lucinda Hare (Vicky) is nominated in the Best Supporting Actor or Ensemble category.
