The Network of Asian Fantastic Films has named 13 international and eight local projects for the project market which runs alongside the renamed Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BiFan).

Asia’s largest genre film festival has revealed the 21 titles from a dozen countries, noting that 171 projects from 28 countries were submitted for consideration.

No NZ projects make the line-up, with Australian Isabel Peppard the closest, with Silk. Peppard is a BiFan alumna, her animated short Butterflies having played the festival three years ago.

Usual suspects selected include Hong Kong director and producer Pang Ho-cheung (Love in a Puff, Dream Home, Vulgaria), and Korean director Park Jung-bum, whose 2014 Alive is reaching the end of a solid festival run that’s included Toronto and Busan.

NAFF runs 19 – 22 July. BiFan runs 16 – 26 July.
