NZ Web Fest a virtual reality

The NZ Web Fest (#NZWF15) has opened ticket sales and announced the first three speakers for the day: Peter Haynes, Roseanne Liang and Roberto Nascimento as the first of its presenters for the November event.

Haynes has a substantial track record on short content, regularly named a finalist in the 48Hours competition, as well as webseries JF2: Primal Fury. At #NZWF15 he’ll give a special presentation of material from his upcoming AFK webseries.

Liang made award-winning film My Wedding & Other Secrets and award-winning webseries Flat 3. She’s currently in post with webseries Friday Night Bites, the next outing from the team behind Flat 3.

Brazilian-born Nascimento is the creator and producer of another award-winning webseries, The Adventures of Suzy Boon, loosely based around his own experiences with NZ Immigration. Nascimento is prolific producer, credited on 17 short films in the last five years – which is 10 less than the 27 projects on which he’s credited as an actor in the same period.

NZ WebFest runs 7 November at Media Design School, Auckland. Early bird tickets are now on sale.

Statement of interest: SCREENZ is one of the organisers of the NZ Web Fest.
