NZIFF doors closing soon

The NZIFF has confirmed details of this year’s New Zealand’s Best Short Competition, ahead of the festival’s submission deadline on Friday.

Madman Entertainment continue to support the NZ’s Best $5000 Best Short Film Award, which was won last year by Alyx Duncan’s The Tide Keeper (pictured, top). Sir James Wallace together with the Wallace Foundation and Wallace Media Ltd, which last year took over supporting the $3000 Friends of the Civic Award, will also continue. The Audience Choice Award will also continue, offering a 25% share of the box office takings from the NZ’s Best screenings in the four main centres.

Submissions (features and shorts) for this year’s NZIFF close 5pm Friday (15 April).

The NZIFF’s Autumn Events kick off in Auckland this evening with the NZ premiere of David Farrier and Dylan Reeve’s Tickled.
