NZWG opens SWANZ submissions

The NZWG has today opened submissions for this year’s SWANZ awards, which will run in September.

The Unproduced Feature category now has a companion Unproduced TV pilot category. Both offer a $500 cash prize.

This year’s edition of the awards will be the first under ED Alice Shearman following the departure of Steven Gannaway, who was instrumental in establishing the event. Last year’s event, which saw Jason Howden Lei take the Feature Screenplay award for Deathgasm, also served as Gannaway’s leaving do.

Entry information is here. Entries close 5 August. SWANZ will run Thursday 22 September, in its now traditional slot ahead of the Big Screen Symposium weekend.
