Open for business

Ahead of the release of the final Hobbit title Variety takes a trip to Wellington for its latest edition, publishing four articles about Peter Jackson’s group of companies in its latest edition.

There’s an overview piece on Jackson’s work and the development of the group of companies which service it, a piece on Weta Workshop, one on Weta Digital, and another on Park Road Post.

The pieces are all very pleasant and informative, although they don’t contain much that’ll be news to anyone in the local industry. They are, however, important in getting the word out that Jackson’s companies (and the wider NZ industry) are not only about Jackson’s own titles – a misconception that still persists in other parts of the world.

Also opening for business is a larger Weta Cave to cope with increasing visitor numbers.
