Tanya Wheeler’s webseries for children, RESET, has taken out the Best Web Series gong at the Web Series Festival Global in Los Angeles.
The proposed second season of RESET was in Cannes earlier this year, selected for the children’s show category of MIPTV’s inaugural Digital Short Form Series Pitch. Supported by NZ On Air, the first season of RESET was also a finalist at last year’s NZ Web Fest.
A second season of RESET is one of a number of kids shows being pitched here for the new kids content platform announced in June, supported by NZ On Air and to be operated by TVNZ.
Away from RESET, Wheeler has been developing other work including a World War I project and teen TV series The Realm. Conceived as a show with international potential, and with Aussie partners on board, The Realm recently ran a successful crowdfunding campaign on Boosted and shot some of its teaser in Sydney. “Because Auckland is too nice,” Wheeler explained. “We needed gritty city.”
