DayZ creator Dean Hall’s Dunedin based game development studio RocketWerkz is increasing its staff for an upcoming unannounced large scale project following investment from Tencent.
RocketWerkz, an independent New Zealand games development studio, has been quietly ramping up its hiring process over the last twelve months for an upcoming unannounced large scale project after a recent investment from Tencent. Having already released the successful HTC Vive VR game Out of Ammo on Steam Early Access, they have begun pre-production on their next flagship project while also developing a handful of smaller games at the same time.
Over the last year they having been hiring developers from game studios like Bethesda, Crytek, Creative Assembly and Bohemia Interactive. RocketWerkz aims to amass an all-star team from across the games industry to work alongside local New Zealand talent.
“The focus of the studio is as a ‘creative factory’ and not on developing technology” said Dean. “We are focused on PC games, new genres and cooperative multiplayer experiences. We are inefficient, rebellious, and unconventional. If you want to go work on crazy projects at the bottom of the world, let us know.”
The team are looking to announce their in-development projects from early 2017 onwards.
Started in 2015, this Dunedin based New Zealand independent development studio was founded by Dean Hall and currently has 24 staff members from all levels of industry experience. RocketWerkz is represented by Blake Rochkind and Ophir Lupu at United Talent Agency.
