Seoul Web Fest names Kiwi nominees

Web series Auckward Love (S2) and High Road (S3) have picked up seven nominations between them for the upcoming Seoul Web Fest, fka KWebFest. Both shows currently have NZ On Air support for their next seasons.

Each show has picked up a pair of nominations in the performing categories in Seoul. Auckward Love gets nods for Best Ensemble Cast and Best Actress (Luci Hare); High Road for Best Actor (Mark Mitchinson) and Best Guest Star (Emma Thompson).

Auckward Love’s third nomination comes in the genre categories for
Best Dramedy (an encouraging category to find in a Korean contest as it’s a genre not much exploited in Korea).

High Road has a nod in the tech categories for Best Editing and a genre nomination in the Best Comedy category, where it competes in a field that also includes 2016 NZ Web Fest Best International Web Series winner The Agent.

The nominations have helped boost both shows in the latest Web Series World Cup league table. High Road has climbed to #3, behind Aussie comedy High Life and Orazio’s Clan. Both shows were winners at last weekend’s Melbourne WebFest and are also nominees at the Seoul Web Fest.

The Seoul Web Fest runs 17 – 19 August.
