Show Me Shorts names nominees

The nominees for the Show Me Shorts Film Festival awards 2017 have been unveiled. 16 short films are nominated.

Zoe McIntosh’s well-travelled award-winning The World in Your Window (pictured, top) leads the pack with six nods. Roseanne Liang’s Do No Harm and Becs Arahanga’s Laundry each have four.

THUNDERLIPS & Candlelit Pictures, the only winners of the MV award since its introduction in 2014, are in the running for a fourth gong with their video for Larzranda’s Turtles.

Oscar nominee Vaysha, L’Aveugle (Blind Vaysha), from the Québec Focus section of the programme, is among the titles nominated for Best International Film.

Another Canadian, Stéphane E. Roy, will present his 9 The Movie and a masterclass in Auckland (29 October). Show Me Shorts is also offering its popular Short Film Talk sessions in Auckland (31 October) and Wellington (12 November).
