Six to go write on Waiheke

Script to Screen has announced the six writers selected for this year’s Writers’ Lab Aotearoa. The lucky half dozen get a week on the island in the company of mentors including Sundance Lab mentor Michael Goldenberg and the recently-announced David Seidler.

The writers seclected from 55 applications are Gillian Ashurst (Snakeskin, The Go Show), Maile Daugherty (Night Shift, Rest for the Wicked, The Insatiable Moon), Nic Gorman (Here Be Monsters), Kelly Kilgour (shorts Cub, Darryn Exists), Miriam Smith (How Far is Heaven), and Tusi Tamasese (The Orator).

The Writers’ Lab Aotearoa runs 1 – 6 July with the support of the NZ Writers Guild and financial assistance from the NZ Film Commission.
