Something for the Weekend

The small print …

screeNZ carries listings for festivals, screenings, releases, calls for entries/submission deadlines, training, funding of screen content, be that content film, TV, webseries, games, apps or more.

If you want to promote content, screeNZ carries free listings for festivals and/or NZ content. We’ll stretch the definition of “NZ” where we can. We would, for example, carry a listing of US TV show Gang Related (it features Cliff Curtis) but probably not one for a Hollywood blockbuster – unless it’s directed by residents of the Wairarapa.

  • Films: Festivals (content from anywhere) and NZ films (premiere or general release) only, please. If you want to list all your session times, go see Flicks. They’re very well set up for that.
  • TV shows: first of series or one-off air date. New seasons of returning shows are fine, but no repeats or “encore screenings” as your PR people like to call them.
  • For MVs, TVCs, webseries, other online content including games: pretty much anything goes except selfies, sex-tapes, cats and fan-fare

Guilds and industry organisations: the general rule of thumb is that we’re happy to list any event that’s open to non-members or that might encourage people to sign up, eg a member-only competition or promotion of a member-only benefit.

On the Events Calendar we normally list only the first and/or last date of any event running longer than a week, such as festivals or call for entries. We’re happy to run multiple listings for multiple dates – eg earlybird, normal, extended, late and absolutely-your-last-chance submission deadlines.

screeNZ listings are free but you could do us both a favour. Like screeNZ on facebook and follow us on twitter. Both networks help grow our reach and our growth gives your listing wider exposure.

Something for the Weekend? is published on Fridays. Cut-off for inclusion is 10am Friday. We prefer listings to link to an external URL. We do not normally host individual event listings on the screeNZ website.

If you’d like to advertise your event elsewhere on the screeNZ website or in our regular newsletters, we’d love to talk to you. Email us or call to discuss options.
