As far as is known, it’s the first New Zealand drama to play prime-time on free to air TV in France (other than All Blacks games).

Other international sales to date include Australia (Nine Network) as well as DR TV in Denmark. Independent Russian distributor, Volgafilm, has taken the rights for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine, plus most of the Stans – Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Tajiki, Turkmeni and Uzbekistan.

Having premiered here last September Brokenwood will return to France looking for more international sales at MIPTV in April. Brokenwood was supported by NZ On Air, with a second series currently in development and expected to shoot in the middle of the year.
