Warner’s most recent game spin-off from the Tolkien, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, has picked up nine nominations for the D.I.C.E. (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain) Awards.
As well as rolling for the top gong, Game of the Year, Shadow of Mordor is also nominated in the categories for Adventure Game of the Year, Animation, Character, Game Design, Game Direction, Innovation in Gaming, Story, and Technical Achievement.
Shadow of Mordor’s nine nominations put it two ahead of closest rival Far Cry 4. Awards are presented in 23 categories, with 56 games receiving nominations.
The awards are run by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS), whose former Joseph Olin is a regular presenter at Animfx.
The 18th edition of the D.I.C.E. Awards runs Friday 6 February (NZ time) in Las Vegas as part of the 2015 D.I.C.E. Summit.
