Thunderbirds Adventures Beyond the Story

Pukeko Pictures, Wellington, Monday 2 May 2016: ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE), in association with New Zealand’s Pukeko Pictures and Kiwi developer Beyond The Story, has announced the global lift-off for the Thunderbirds Are Go: Adventures app. The app is now available on iTunes in the United Kingdom, Australia, United States and New Zealand and is free to download[1].

The app recreates a futuristic console within space-based Thunderbird 5 where children can explore new dimensions of the Thunderbirds Are Go story. They can read about each mission, explore the craft and characters in 3D and undertake challenging tasks for International Rescue. As children complete each episode, they unlock exciting new features that challenge and grow their reading and comprehension skills in a fun and interactive way.

Beyond The Story has developed the app that complements the popular television series.

Beyond The Story CEO Jen Porter says: “Our passion is bringing stories to life in a highly interactive and engaging way in the digital space. With this app we’ve taken our work into new dimensions, turning each Thunderbirds Are Go episode into a written story with fantastic supporting content. Children can now join the famous Tracy brothers in their daring rescues.”

Pukeko Pictures’ Co-Founder Richard Taylor says: “As a child, I was captivated by the Thunderbirds, so it’s terrific to be involved in bringing the show back to the screen for a new generation to enjoy. The new app lets kids of any age experience the Thunderbirds on a new screen, in a new way. The team at Beyond the Story has channelled the Tracy brothers selfless spirit of adventure into an experience that’s immersive, intelligent and, most importantly, really good fun!”

Steve Green, EVP of Kids’ Content and Distribution at ITV Studios Global Entertainment says: “The talented team at Beyond The Story has developed an exciting new product with Thunderbirds Are Go: Adventures. We look forward to seeing the fans’ reaction to this innovative app.”

[1] Download of the app and first episode is free with additional downloads costing NZ $7.49 and AU $7.99 for the series
