Thunderbirds Are Go! will compete for the Licensing Awards’ Innovation gong in the UK in September.
The nomination is for MerchMaker’s customisable Thunderbirds clothing, on to which buyers can have printed all manner of text – although the company refuses requests for inappropriate messages.
Thunderbirds’ clothing will compete against products from the ranges of Doctor Who, Metal Gear Solid, SpongeBob and Star Wars. Across the whole finalists’ list, Minions has the most nominations although, perhaps appropriately, they compete against themselves in a number of categories.
Thunderbirds< Are Go/em>, made in Wellington by Pukeko Pictures in partnership with the UK’s ITV Studios, has confirmed a second season.
The Licensing Awards will present gongs across many categories, not all of them entertainment-related, at an event in London on 15 September.
