Time for a wave of support for Samoa

South Pacific Pictures and Sky City Cinemas have organised special screenings of Sione’s Wedding this Saturday to raise money for those affected by the recent tsunami in Samoa. Stars of Sione’s Wedding, Shortland Street, Bro’Town, Outrageous Fortune and more will be turning up to lend their support.

All proceeds from ticket sales and donations at the event will go directly to the New Zealand Red Cross for the Samoa Earthquake and Tsunami Appeal.

Robbie Magasiva, one of the stars of Sione’s Wedding and currently playing Dr Maxwell Avia on Shortland Street, is inviting everyone to come along to the special fundraiser screenings: “On behalf of my fellow cast members I’m calling on all Aucklanders to come along to this event to support the rebuilding of my motherland. It’ll be a fun night out and 100% of the money raised will go to this great cause.”

As well as meeting your favourite stars, South Pacific Pictures, TVNZ, Firehorse Films and SKYCITY have also donated fabulous prizes which will be raffled at the event. These include movie tickets, DVD packs, TV2 merchandise and goodies from Town, Outrageous Fortune and Shortland Street.

The fundraiser screenings are this Saturday October 10, 6pm at SKYCITY Cinemas Westfield St Lukes and 8pm at SKYCITY Cinemas Westfield Manukau. Tickets can be booked in advance from the SKYCITY Cinemas website and are available at the special price of $9.
