After Tribeca’s programme announcements earlier this week confirmed Taika Waititi’s Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Ivan Barge’s short Madam Black has now also been named.
From 3,553 submissions Tribeca has programmed 72 short films from 23 countries, of which 53 titles will play in competition.
Madam Black is the sole Kiwi representative, while Australia has three selections: Jem Rankin’s Cherokee, Tim Egan’s Curve and Rubika Shah’s Let’s Dance: Bowie Down Under.
Tribeca is an Oscar-qualifying festival for love and narrative and documentary shorts. In 11 of the last 12 years, at least one of the festival’s selections has been an Oscar nominee or winner.
The Tribeca Film Festival will run 13 – 24 April.
