Trio in competition at Clermont-Ferrand

Three NZ shorts are named in competition line-ups for the 2016 edition of the world’s largest short film festival and market.

James Cunningham’s Accidents, Blunders and Calamities and Ivan Barge’s Madam Black will both play in Clermont-Ferrand’s International Competition line-up, while David White’s The Couple will play in C-F’s Lab Competition.

Cunningham’s short recently had its world premiere at the Show Me Shorts Festival, and took the Best Editor gong at the festival’s awards. Earlier this year Madam Black won a Director’s Choice Award at the Rhode Island IFF, the Audience Award in the NZ’s Best competition at the NZIFF and recently added to its haul in Europe, taking an Audience Award at the Leeds IFF, and two prizes at the Gijon IFF: the Youth Jury Award for Best Short Film and the “GIL PARRONDO” Award to the Best Art Direction.

Clermont-Ferrand runs 5 – 13 February.
