TV3 takes knife to NCA

After suggestions late last week that Campbell Live was for the chop, MediaWorks this morning confirmed that its Sunday edition of 3News would be cut to 30 minutes, with the second half of the hour taken up by 3D (which also reduces from an hour to a half).

3rd Degree

Formerly 3rd Degree, 3D cuts title as well as running length

Last week NZ On Air announced Platinum Fund support for 3D Investigates, a strand of investigative journalism to run within 3D. When the funding decisions were made, 3D was still 3rd Degree and ran for a full hour on Wednesdays.

SCREENZ understands that NZ On Air was informed of the changes MediaWorks was making before today’s announcement, and that MediaWorks will still deliver the 3D Investigates programming as planned.

MediaWorks will implement the changes to its Sunday programming on 24 May.
