Two mentors complete Writers Lab

Script to Screen is delighted to announce that writer Briar Grace Smith and filmmaker Dana Rotberg will join international guests David Seidler and Michael Goldenberg as mentors at our Writers’ Lab Aotearoa.

The Lab runs 1 – 6 July on Waiheke. Gillian Ashurst, Maile Daugherty, Nic Gorman, Kelly Kilgour, Miriam Smith, and Tusi Tamasese were previously announced as the writers selected for the Lab.

Briar Grace-Smith (The Strength of Water) is a multi award-winning writer whose work spans film, television, theatre, poetry and short story. Recently she has completed her role as a development executive at the NZ Film Commission.

Dana Rotberg is a Mexican filmmaker based in Auckland. After a career directing, writing, and producing feature films in Mexico and Sarajevo, including multiple selections at Cannes Directors’ Fortnight, Dana continued her successes on our shores with White Lies in 2013.

We’re thrilled to welcome Briar and Dana on board who have both been preparing for the lab alongside our international mentors, and those writers chosen to take part.

The Writers’ Lab Aotearoa is delivered with support from the NZWG and financial assistance from the NZFC.
