Two out three ain’t bad for SLR

Sydney-based SLR Productions, half-owned by South Pacific Pictures, won two gongs from three nominations at this year’s Women in Media Awards in Australia last week.

CEO and Executive Producer Suzanne Ryan took the Producer of the Year award; Creative Director Jo Boag won Creative of the Year.

Head of Development and Writing Melanie Alexander was a finalist in the Creative of the Year category, so the company was never going to convert all its nominations into silverware.

Ryan founded SLR in 2002. To date it’s made over 130 hours of programming, including Guess How Much I Love You, for which a second series was confirmed earlier this year, and the Emmy-awarded I Got a Rocket.
