Walker and Darby join Wilderpeople

Stan Walker and Rhys Darby have been announced today as supporting cast in Taika Waititi’s Hunt for the Wilderpeople.


Walker starred in Mt Zion and features in the in-post debut from Tammy Davis, Born to Dance. Darby led Paul Murphy’s Love Birds and featured in Jemaine Clement and Waititi’s What We Do in the Shadows.

Walker and Darby join already announced lead cast Sam Neill and Julian Dennison on the feature currently being shot across Auckland and the Central Plateau.

Other casting announced today includes industry stalwarts Rima Te Wiata (Bliss, Housebound, Tatau), Oscar Kightley (Sione’s Wedding, Harry), Rachel House (the Blue Rose, White Lies, Hope and Wire), Cohen Holloway (Good for Nothing, What We Do in the Shadows, Find Me A Maori Bride) and Mike Minogue (Separation City, Rage, What We Do in the Shadows). 

Hunt for the Wilderpeople is due for theatrical release in 2016.
