Weta Digital took the Hollywood Post Alliance award for Outstanding Visual Effects (Feature Film) at a ceremony in Los Angeles.
The award named Joe Letteri, Eric Saindon, David Clayton, R. Christopher White and Matt Aitken as the winners, for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Other nominees in the category were Birdman, Into the Woods, Jurassic World and Tomorrowland.
The HPA Awards recognize individuals and companies for outstanding contributions made in the creation of feature films, television, commercials, and entertainment content enjoyed around the world.
Awards were presented in craft categories to honour behind the scenes artistry, Engineering Excellence, and Creativity and Innovation. Leon D. Silverman, a founder and current president of the HPA, was presented with the HPA Lifetime Achievement Award.
