Weta adds more awards nominations

Having already been announced as contender for Visual Effects Society gongs, Weta has picked up nods for the International 3D and Advanced Imaging Society’s prize-giving.

The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies

Both Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies are named in the 10-strong field competing for Best Live Action 3D Feature. Six of those features, including Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, are not native 3D, and are also nominated in the conversion category.

The Creative Arts Awards honours nominees and winners across 20 categories, as well as presenting a few honorary gongs. This year Jean-Pierre Jeunet (The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet), David Attenborough and Sky Atlantic will receive the non-juried awards.

The International 3D and Advanced Imaging Society’s Creative Arts Awards will be presented 29 January (NZ time).
